GREEN is proud to equip its low-cost, low-power power supplies with DC-DC converters in an unprecedented move. At present, most power manufacturers in the world implement this type of topology only in mid-range and high-end models of their products. Certainly, using the term "Low-class power supplies" for this new generation of GREEN power supplies with all these features and capabilities will not be a good option. Therefore, based on their power output range (330W-580W), it is better to use the phrase "Professional low capacity power supply".
- Topology of DC-DC converters with Semi-Synchronous Rectification in the secondary section
Unlike the previous generation, whose secondary design was based on the Group Regulation topology, the EUD series power supplies use the latest and most modern design, DC-DC converters with synchronous rectification. In Synchronous Rectification technology, Schottky diodes are removed from the output section and completely replaced by Power MOSFETs. In the EUD generation, thanks to the use of high-quality MOSFETs (Low RDS (on), we see a significant increase in efficiency and a decrease in voltage drop and heat loss, which will significantly increase/stabilize the useful life and tolerance of the power supply against high heat.
Also, due to the installation of DC-DC converters in this section, the voltage of each of the main output rails ( 12V, 5V, 3.3V) is generated completely independently. In practice, this further stabilizes the voltage level of the named rails in Cross Load (unbalanced load distribution on the output branches), Zero Load (completely idle state) conditions, followed by the addition of protection (NLO) No-Load Operation.
The end result of implementing this topology will be a reduction in the Voltage Regulation of the main rails to less than 2.5%, as well as a much faster Transient Response than the previous generation. In addition, unlike most power supplies in this price range, the ability to provide all power output power only on the 12V rail is also provided. In fact, users who intend to use this series of power supplies on modern systems equipped with processors and high-consumption graphics cards can benefit from the maximum efficiency of their professional equipment without any restrictions in terms of power distribution on the output rails.
- Faster and more accurate performance of safety protections
The Supervisor chip is the most important part of all switching power supplies in modern power supplies. In the EUD series power supplies, the Supervisor chip is much more modern and accurate than the previous-generation models, and the customizations made in its biasing, in practice, provide a much narrower and more precise range for controlling safety protections.
In fact, the new generation EUD power supplies, like the high-end and expensive power supplies on the market, support all the current safety protections implemented in modern switching power supplies. Description of the performance of OVP / UVP / OCP / OPP / SCP / SCP / SIP / NLO / OTP protections that Implemented in EUD power supplies:
- Surge & Inrush Protection (SIP)
Thanks to the installation of MOV (Metal Oxide Varistor) and also NTC Thermistor in the input section, the performance and health of this generation of power supplies are insured against inrush protection and even severe voltage spikes in the input.
- Over / Under Voltage Protection (OVP / UVP)
If the voltage range of each output rail exceeds the specified safe minimum and maximum range, this protection immediately shuts off the power supply.
- Overcurrent protection (OCP)
This protection shuts off the power supply if for any reason the current passing through any of the outlets is within the safe range.
- Short circuit protection (SCP)
A short circuit occurs when the impedance of each output branch of the power supply is less than 0.1 ohm. In fact, in cases where each output rail is disconnected or grounded (GND), it cuts off a power supply.
- Over Power Protection (OPP)
If the total power consumption of the output rails of the power supply exceeds the specified value, this protection immediately shuts off the power supply
- Over Temperature Protection (OTP)
If, for various reasons, such as failure of the device fan, blockage of air inlets and outlets, or application of loads exceeding the rated power of the power supply at long distances, the internal heat of the power exceeds the specified value, this protection immediately shuts off the power supply.
This protection allows the power supply to continue to operate even when the output rails are no longer in load. (Note: Intel uses the term No-load Situation for this protection in the ATX12V V2.4 standard. But this protection is generally known as NLO.)
- Taiwanese 105°C quality electrolyte and solid capacitors in primary and secondary parts.
In EUD series power supplies, in both primary and secondary parts, high-quality electrolytic capacitors with the ability to operate at 105°C have been used. These capacitors are more than 4 times longer in life than similar 85°C capacitors and are significantly more resistant to current ripple.
- Ripple and voltage noise of the output rails One-third of the world standards
The EUD series power supplies use all-black output cables of flat type. Flat cables are more flexible than conventional stranded cables and make parts easier to cable, which will ultimately make the system more beautiful and provide better ventilation inside the case.
The use of the most modern topologies of primary and secondary sections, along with extremely high-quality components is created in EUD power supplies so that the energy consumption efficiency of the second generation of these power supplies reaches about 88%. This energy efficiency has made this series of power supplies 80Plus Bronze certified.
Flat and all-black output cables
Thanks to the super-intelligent fan controller for the new generation EUD power supplies, the sound of these models is very low up to about 70 to 80% of the rated power of the power supply, and practically no sound is heard from the fan power supply.
High energy efficiency and 80Plus Bronze certification
Ripple and output noise is one of the most important factors in reducing the useful life of power supplies and related equipment. Ripple voltage of 12V rail output of EUD series power supplies by means of advanced implemented in the secondary section and multiple CLC filters has 35mV (pp) which is less than one-third of the range in the latest standard version of ATX power supplies.
